A HVAC technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems. These systems may be installed in a private residence, or in a commercial or industrial setting.
An electrician is responsible for installing, connecting, testing, and maintaining electrical systems. These systems may be used for security, climate control, or communications. In addition, an electrician may be called upon to install and maintain the electrical controls that are used for machines in industry and in business.
To earn an airframe or powerplant certificate, the Federal Aviation Administration requires completion of 18 months of work experience. To get a combined airframe and powerplant certificate, 30 months of work experience is required. This experience must be on both airframes and engines.
